OPEN HAND SELF DEFENSE

It’s that time folks! Testing MONTH is here. That is right: testing date is March 10th! This is going to be so exciting. So many have worked so hard. The list of those testing is posted on the bulletin board. Then our Promotion Ceremony/Banquet is March 13th, at Forrest Inn, 4:30. Also remember that everyone is responsible for their own bill. Please dress and present yourself appropriately.  

If you did not test this time, June 16th is the next scheduled testing date. Our promotion ceremony/banquet for June will be our  potluck/cookout, held at Rockwood State Park, 4:30 P.M. Once again Open Hand Self Defense will be proving the brats, hotdogs, and buns. Sign up sheet is up front already. Closer to the date, we will put up the sheet of who is bringing what. This is for ALL students and family.  

We’re still looking for some fundraiser ideas. We are hoping to do at least one fundraiser a year to help us acquire new equipment and replace worn out equipment. We are also looking for some ideas for the Morrison Pop Up Markets this year.  The plan is for us to be setting up a booth display at the WHITESIDE COUNTY FAIR THIS YEAR, so we will be closed the week of fair this year. 

As announced in classes, the water dispenser is no more. There is fresh cold water in the fridge for 50 cents a bottle, cheaper than at sporting events, or you are welcome to bring your own drink daily.  

BIG EXCITEMENT COMING APRIL 18TH!!!! On Saturday April 18th, Professor Morris is hosting the Introduction to Combat Hapkido Seminar. It is a great chance to train with and learn from Professor Morris and other professors and grand masters from other schools and states. Learn different points of view. Meet and train with other students from different areas. This seminar is for ages 13 and up (youth that are in our ADULT class are welcome to come too). Early Bird sign up has started and ends March 25th. Early birds register for $70. After March 25th cost will be $85. You really don’t want to miss this chance. Start time is going to 10 A.M. and we end about 2 P.M.
